Actually, "You Are In My System" was originally done by The System (Mick Murphy and David Frank). The RP version was one of those "Here comes Robert Palmer making an almost identical cover of a recent Pop hit and making money off of someone's back" type of things. Look for used System LPs. A few of them are quite good, if you're into 80's Electro Pop. sqrrt -----Original Message----- From: emmett9 [mailto:emmett9@home.com] Sent: Tuesday, December 26, 2000 10:20 PM To: idm@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: [idm] LB -Pop Artificielle and "silence is golden" is by The Tremeloes.

This reminds me....every member of this list owes it to him/herself to take a listen to stuff by Liquid Liquid. They are from the early 80's but they sound more revalent than ever nowadays. Very percussion-oritened, pretty amazing stuff. There is a comp. of their stuff out on Grand Royal. The reason I'm replying to this thread is the old rap song "White Lines" is a ripoff of the Liquid Liquid track "Cavern", which brought it to my mind because I don't remember anyone posting about them recently....

i had *no* idea, and thanks for the tip. i'll be hunting around for that. gets confusing when you can't recognize a cover for what it is... s. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
